Gena Thomas Ross is a 1997 graduate of H. L. Bourgeois High School. She is the mother of three boys: Dorian, Payton & Landon. Gena has been married for 23 years. Her vision is to empower and enrich the lives of children. Gena is very passionate about home-schooling. Gena loves teaching and mentoring children. She has a total of 11 years experience as a teacher at M.I.C.S and as a Learning Coach. She also received her certification through N.P.S.A.G. She is a graduate of Nicholls State University. She wants every child to reach their highest potential. Her ultimate goal is to see every student at QHS succeed. "Through my years of experience, I've learned that not every child is alike. You have to meet them where they are. You have to teach them differently so they can understand."
Maranda Pierron Thomas
Elementary Educational Pathway Coach
Mrs. Maranda Pierron Thomas is the mother of 3 beautiful children, Markus (12), Mariah (7) and Zeke (2). She is a 2000 honor graduate from Ellender Memorial High School. She attended Nicholls State University where she studied Elementary Education. She has over 10 years experience in the banking industry. Maranda has a very nurturing heart for children. Her passion is seeing kids excel in their education.
We believe that Maranda's passion for encouraging students to reach their full potential allow her to effectively meet the needs of every student.
Maranda is the widow of our namesake, Mr. Quentin Dion Thomas. We welcome her with open arms as she continues her husband's legacy here at QHS.

She's worked with diverse groups of students of all ages, grade levels and backgrounds. Among those were many students with ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, speech impairments, and non-compliant behavior.
Mrs. Carolyn believes that Education is the key to success.
She loves teaching!
Her motto is: "If I can help somebody as I pass along the way, then my living shall not be in vain".

High School Math/ English Educational Pathway Coach
Zachary Smith has been teaching math and other subjects for over five years. Starting with volunteer tutoring as a form of community service, and later as a freelance private tutor. Zachary takes pride in his communication skills and ability to meet a student at their level. He is proficient in Algebra and Geometry as well as English and other humanities. He continues to further his education at Nicholls State University's psychology department.
